Things to read...

If time is short, I'd suggest reading at LEAST The Prologue and Legend of The Pinto Bean Posts!

Hi Daniel. This is my second attempt to leave a comment for you. Sometimes my computer acts a little wacky. Anyhow, what I was trying to say is that if I had the money to donate to your trip, I would. However, money is scarce at this moment and I just can't afford it at this moment. I do however wish you the best of luck and I want you to know that I trully am proud of you for the sacrifice you made for me and what you are accomplishing now. I'm a disabled veteran, too, but in the sense one might immediately imagine. I didn't see the action I wanted to and I'm not missing any limbs or vital functions. I was in the Navy and a fellow corpsman attempted to sexually assault me...supposedly I went a little wacky and needed to be seperated from the service after he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers for assaulting three women. Anyhow, to make a long story a short, I'm really not the kind of disabled veteran you are...but sometimes I wish I was. I'm not exactly sure that I deserve the monthly stipend I get when other people clearly deserve it more than I do. Well, I'm ranting. I'm happy you're going to med school after what has happened to you. I wanted to go to med school, but instead I received a degree in Health Care Management with a minor in biology. Maybe one day I'll go back to college. Hearing your story has inspired me. Once again, good luck with your travels and life!

Oops...I meant "not in the sense one might immediately imagine"...

Thank you very much Rayne! If my story serves to inspire people then that's donation enough!

Have you considered corporate sponsorship? Maybe you could slap some logos on the Pinto Bean.

Daniel said...

Yah i've thought about it, but the problem with that is once you have a sponsor, you now have to follo THEIR agenda. The only people i'm going to "represent" and it's unsponsored, and probably unwanted, is www.woundedwarriorproject.org

Hey Dan, good luck with your trip. Here's a little something to keep the 'Burb going. (at current prices and mileage, about 18 feet's worth). If you get down to Savannah, GA (which would be towards the end of cirumnavigation, I guess) look us up.

Hi Daniel,

Here's (hopefully) enough to fill up your truck and maybe get a burger, a beer and some dog food with what's left. Have a great trip and thanks so much for your service to our country and for sharing your adventure with us.
