The motorcycle thing didn't work out too well for me either. I was in the process of riding up a rather large hill in my neighborhood when a woman walking her dog decided to let the dog wander out into the road. Needless to say I had to stop on the large incline to avoid running over her dog....I was then stuck. I couldn't walk the bike up the hill (it was too steep), I couldn't walk the bike down the hill (the bike was too heavy) and I just couldn't get it going without stalling. After about 10 minutes stuck I was hoping that someone would come out of their house and offer help rather than just looking out the window at me. Eventually I gave it full throttle and jerked my way up the rest of the hill (with slight whiplash). That was the last time I drove one. I love riding on a bike....but as a passenger now.

Interesting to see the pics of Mt. Rushmore. I watched National Treasure II this weekend and it so happens that the secret city of gold is behind those mountains somewhere! HA! Anyways, great pictures and even better blog. I almost feel like I know you! Be safe.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198289953981711830.post-92098772907770372262008-06-16T00:56:00.000-04:002008-06-16T00:56:00.000-04:00Your comments about the boring straight roads in S...Your comments about the boring straight roads in South Dakota tell me that you took the wrong ones, with the goal that too many people have in mind when crossing the state; to get it done in as little time as possible. Sorry to say you missed a lot. I hope you didn't travel I90 all the way across.

And I could've told you that Sturgis isn't all it's cracked up to be (not much to see if there aren't a hundred thousand bikers milling about), and that there's a lot more to see in the Black Hills than Mt. Rushmore and Sturgis. There are a lot of tourist traps in the Hills, and you need a local to help you see past them.

Oh well. Stay safe, and have fun!davintoshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14233172008565788138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198289953981711830.post-30112774742791061592008-06-15T11:12:00.000-04:002008-06-15T11:12:00.000-04:00Trying to figure out how you make a story about mo...Trying to figure out how you make a story about mono and road rash sound so (+6?) cool.mommajanjanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05927376150853838382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8198289953981711830.post-79488677133962570342008-06-15T09:27:00.000-04:002008-06-15T09:27:00.000-04:00Great pics Daniel! (Was that PC enough?)

The Tower looks amazing. Thanks for that, too. Didn't realize how sparse the population is out there.
Take care,
KathAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
